Masala Toast | Bombay Masala Toast

Masala Toast is a typical street food of Mumbai made with potatoes. I have tried to re-create the recipe for you guys, hope you like it. It is an excellent sandwich recipe since it is filling and extremely flavorful. Serve it hot with some sev and green chutney or ketchup by the side.

Ingredients

Potatoes

Cumin seeds

Ginger

Green chilies

Coriander leaves

Garam masala

Onions

Tomatoes

Capsicum

Cheese

Chaat masala

Pav bhaji masala powder

Chili powder

Green chutney

Lemon juice

Sev

Oil

Salt

Method

Aloo Masala

Heat a kadai with some oil, add in cumin seeds

Add ginger, onions, and green chilies and saute them

Add salt, garam masala, pav bhaji masala powder and give it a mix

Add boiled and roughly mashed potatoes and saute

Finally add lemon juice and coriander leaves and turn off the stove and keep this aside

Masala Toast

To make the masala toast, apply some butter on one side of the bread slice and apply some green chutney

Add a thick layer of the aloo masala

Add onions, tomatoes, capsicum and the spice powders

Add grated cheese and close it with another slice of bread

Grill the sandwich or toast it with some butter till you get golden brown color on both sides

Cut it into pieces and garnish it with sev and serve hot
