New Delhi, Jan 28 (ANI): In a ‘friendly fraud’, Facebook reportedly allowed children to spend thousands of dollars on games behind their parents’ back. According to an investigation, the social network managed a multiyear effort that duped children and their parents out of money and refused to refund it. A lawsuit tells how Facebook targeted children in an effort to expand revenue for online games, such as Angry Birds, PetVille and Ninja Saga. This it did to maximise revenue and to accomplish this it allowed developers to let high-spending children, which it calls ‘whales’, spend money without their parents’ permission.
