Chicken Podimas

Sesame/Gingelly Oil
Fennel seeds
Onion – 1 no. finely chopped
Green chili – 1 no. finely chopped
Few Curry leaves
Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
Tomato – 1 no. chopped
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Garam Masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Egg – 2 nos (Optional)

To Cook Chicken
Chicken – 300gms
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1/4 tsp

1. Take a pressure cooker, add chicken pieces, salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, ginger garlic paste, little water and cook the chicken.
2. Shred the chicken and discard the bones once it got cooked.
3. Heat sesame/gingelly oil in a kadai. Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, fennel seeds, 1 large onion chopped, 1 green chili chopped, few curry leaves and saute well.
4. Once the onion turns brown add 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste, 1 chopped tomato, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chili powder, salt, 1/2 tsp garam masala powder, left over chicken stock and shredded chicken. Just mix all the ingredients together and saute well.
5. Turn off the stove for a saucy chicken podimas. For a dry chicken podimas, just saute for 5 minutes to 7 minutes till it dries up.
6. Adding egg its an optional. Make a well in the center, add oil and crack open 2 eggs. Scramble the eggs and mix it with the chicken podimas.
Delicious chicken podimas is ready to taste!
