Beans Paruppu Usili
Ingredients

Oil – 1 1/2 Tbsp
Urad Dal – 1 Tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 Tsp
Curry Leaves
A Pinch Of Asafoetida Powder
Beans – 1 Bowl
Salt

To make Dal Mixture
Chana Dal – 1/2 Cup
Toor Dal – 1/2 Cup
Water
Red Chili – 7 Nos
Salt – 1 Tsp
Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 Tsp

Method

1. Rinse and soak chana dal and toor dal for about 1 hour
2. Add the soaked dals to a mixer jar along with red chillies, asafoetida powder and salt
3. Grind them a very coarse mixture
4. Take spoonfuls of the mixture and place it on to a idli mould and steam it
5. Let it cool down after steaming
6. Heat a kadai with some oil
7. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, asafoetida and let the mustard seeds splutter
8. Add the beans and fry them till they are cooked
9. Add salt and mix well
10. Crumble the cooled dal mixture
11. Add the crumble to the cooked beans and saute them together
12. Turn off the stove once the dal mixture turns golden in color
13. Serve them with rice.
